California’s Central Coast has five main wine regions: Paso Robles, Santa Barbara County, the SLO Coast (San Luis Obispo), Monterey, and San Benito. Wine Taster’s Handbook maps every tasting room across all five, with hours, fees, and directions.
The guide currently lists more than 480 tasting rooms across the five Central Coast regions, from large estates to small appointment-only rooms. Rooms that have closed, that duplicate another listing, or that do not host public tastings are held back rather than published.
Many Central Coast wineries welcome dogs, especially those with outdoor patios and lawns. Use the dog-friendly filter on the map to see only dog-friendly tasting rooms in any region.
Tasting fees on the Central Coast typically range from about $15 to $50 per person, and many wineries waive the fee with a bottle or club purchase. Each listing shows the fee we last recorded and whether it is waived with purchase. Fees change seasonally, so confirm with the winery before you go.
Some tasting rooms welcome walk-ins while others are by appointment only. Each winery’s listing shows what we have on file, open or by appointment, based on the hours the winery publishes. Hours change, so call ahead.

We do not guarantee that any listing is complete or current. Hours, fees and policies change often, so treat the guide as a starting point and confirm with the winery before you drive.

No. Every tasting room in the five regions is listed whether or not it works with us, and we do not charge for inclusion. Wineries can pay for a featured listing, which lets them publish their own description, logo and photographs and manage their events. Where a listing is paid, we label it.
Winery event listings are a feature in development. The events currently shown on the site are sample listings that demonstrate the format, not live schedules. Check a winery’s own site or call ahead for what is actually on. We are working with wineries to publish real schedules here.
