Wine Taster’s Handbook is operated by Premium Analysis Services LLC, a California limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
This site is about visiting places that serve alcohol. It is intended for people of legal drinking age in the United States. By using it you confirm you are 21 or older.
Our itineraries suggest an order of stops and estimated drive times. They are not advice that it is safe or legal for you to drive. Wine tasting and driving do not mix. Use a designated driver, a car service or a tour operator, and spit or dump if you are driving. You are responsible for how you get between stops and for the condition you are in when you do.
An information service. We publish business information about tasting rooms and we build suggested itineraries from it. We do not sell wine, we do not sell tastings, we do not take reservations, and we are not the agent of any winery. Anything you buy or book, you buy or book from the winery or the booking service directly.
We compile listings from wineries’ own websites and other public sources, and from wineries who claim their listing. We work to keep it accurate and we fix errors when they are reported. We do not promise that any listing is complete, current or correct.
Hours, fees, reservation policies and pet and food policies change often and change seasonally. Call the winery before you drive. Distances and drive times are estimates generated from coordinates, not turn-by-turn directions.
If a listing is wrong, tell us at hello@winetastershandbook.com and we will correct it, whether or not the winery works with us.
You may use most of the site without an account. If you create one, keep your sign-in secure, give us an email address you control, and do not use someone else’s. You can close your account at any time by emailing us.
You keep ownership of the notes, tasting notes, photographs and other content you add to the site. By adding it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and reproduce it for the purpose of running the site and showing it back to you and to anyone you choose to share a handbook with. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared or held in routine backups.
You confirm that you own what you post or have the right to post it, and that it is not unlawful, defamatory or infringing. Private notes stay private to your account. If you choose to share a handbook by link, only the parts described on that screen are shared.
Every tasting room in the regions we cover is listed, whether or not it works with us. If you claim a listing, you confirm that you are authorised by that business to do so. Content a winery adds to its listing is that winery’s content, published under the listing agreement, and the winery is responsible for its accuracy.
Some listings are paid. Where payment affects how or where a listing appears, we label it on the page where it appears.
Winery names, logos and marks belong to their owners. We use them to identify the businesses we list. Being listed is not an endorsement of this site by the winery, and listing a winery is not an endorsement of the winery by us.
We publish an API and an MCP endpoint so AI assistants can answer questions about Central Coast wineries. Those are for answering questions, not for bulk extraction of the database.
The site design, editorial writing, region and district guides, tasting education content, software and the compiled database are ours or our licensors’ and are protected by copyright and other laws. AVA boundary data is from the American Viticultural Areas Digitizing Project, UC Davis Library (CC0). Basemap data is OpenStreetMap contributors and CARTO. Map rendering is Mapbox.
If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, send a notice under the DMCA to our designated agent: Premium Analysis Services LLC, DMCA Agent, San Luis Obispo County, California, hello@winetastershandbook.com.
Include identification of the work, identification of the material and where it is on the site, your contact details, a statement of good faith belief, a statement that the notice is accurate, and your signature. We remove or disable infringing material and we terminate repeat infringers.
The site links to wineries and may link to booking, lodging and tour services. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for them. Some outbound links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Where that is the case, we say so on the page carrying the link.
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or error free, or that any listing, itinerary, drive time or opening hour is accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Premium Analysis Services LLC and its members, officers and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, personal injury, property damage, or any loss arising from your travel, your consumption of alcohol, your reliance on any listing or itinerary, or the acts of any winery or other third party.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed the greater of one hundred dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the site, your content, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or third party right.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Before filing anything, email hello@winetastershandbook.com describing the dispute. We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
If we cannot, you and we agree that any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, seated in San Luis Obispo County, California, and not in court, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court.
Class action waiver. You and we agree that claims will be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding.
You can opt out. If you do not want to be bound by the arbitration clause and the class waiver, email hello@winetastershandbook.com with the subject “Arbitration opt-out” within 30 days of first accepting these terms. Opting out does not affect the rest of these terms.
If the arbitration clause is held unenforceable, disputes will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Luis Obispo County, California, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction.
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will change the effective date above. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated terms.
