Wine Taster's Handbook is a directory and trip planner for the tasting rooms of California's Central Coast: Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, SLO Coast, Monterey and San Benito. Every room in the five regions is listed, not a curated few.
Jimmy and Melissa Phelan. We live in the middle of the Paso Robles wine region and built this because planning a day of tasting meant a dozen browser tabs and a lot of guessing.

Listings are compiled from wineries' own websites and public sources, then checked by hand. Where a detail could not be confirmed, the field is left blank rather than filled with a guess. Listings that carry a verification date show it; the rest show nothing, which means we have not re-checked them recently.
Hours and fees change seasonally and many rooms take reservations, so call ahead before you drive. Every listing has a way to report an error, and corrections are usually applied within a few days.
Every tasting room in the five regions is listed, whether or not it works with us. Claiming your listing lets you correct the details, publish accurate hours, and add photos. If something about your listing is wrong, tell us and we will fix it whether or not you claim it.
We can also show you how your listing performs: how often it is viewed, saved, and added to a planned trip. Those figures are aggregate counts, never anything about an individual visitor.
